Dr. Trigilio has conducted research in the Rocky Mountains, the Sierra Nevada, the Mojave Desert, New Zealand and Ireland. Her experience includes working as a geophysicist for major multinational oil companies to lead geologist for the Energy Research Institute at Montana State University modeling carbon sequestration in a Department of Energy funded project.
In 2013, she was a fellow at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC where she wrote and produced three documentaries. Prior to her work at the Smithsonian, she completed films that focus on topics that range from AIDS awareness in South Africa to a character story of a shuffleboard champion in a small rural town in Texas. Currently, she is a candidate for an MFA in Science and Natural History filmmaking at Montana State University and working on a documentary about water shortages in the High Plains region in the mid-west.
